The NOAA Office for Coastal Management facilitates the integration of the fellow selection and project selection process by

  • receiving and processing the project proposals
  • convening panels to evaluate project proposals and potential fellows
  • participating in the fellow and project selection panels
  • providing logistical and programmatic support during the placement workshop
  • coordinating funding for the fellows
  • providing support and guidance to the fellows and mentors throughout the two-year fellowship

State Coastal Zone Management Programs provide assistance and participate by

  • submitting project proposals
  • hosting fellows to work on state projects
  • identifying a source for the $15,000 cost share for the two-year fellowship

Digital Coast Partnership Organizations provide assistance and participate by

  • submitting project proposals
  • hosting fellows to work on projects that advance the goals of the Digital Coast and its partner organizations
  • identifying a source for the $15,000 cost share for the two-year fellowship

The Sea Grant College Program provides assistance and support by

  • interviewing fellowship applicants in the initial selection process
  • endorsing candidates for the program
  • participating in the fellow and project selection panels

The Coastal States Organization provides assistance by

  • participating in the fellow and project selection panels
